COMEBACK SPECIALS

The Stars, Devils, Kings and Islanders all staged multi-goal comebacks to earn a victory on Saturday night.

* Trailing 3-0 to begin the third period, the Stars rallied for three goals in the final frame before Tyler Seguin (1-1—2) scored his first career regular-season overtime winner to complete the comeback. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it marked the first time in franchise history that the Stars/North Stars won a game after trailing by at least three goals while being shut out entering the third period.
* Trailing 2-0 in the third period, the Devils rallied for two goals in the final frame, including Kyle Palmieri’s (1-0—1) tying goal with 21.8 seconds on the clock to set the stage for John Moore’s (1-1—2) first career overtime marker. Per Elias, it was only the third time in franchise history that the Devils won a road game in regulation or overtime (excluding shootouts) in which they trailed by two goals in the final ten minutes of the third period. It earned the Devils a split in the home-and-home series after the Canadiens also rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat the Devils in a shootout on Friday.
* Trailing 2-0 entering the third period, Jeff Carter (1-0—1) and Marian Gaborik (2-0—2) tallied third period goals to force overtime, where Gaborik potted the winning goal to complete the comeback. With the win, the Kings overcame a two-goal deficit to win a game for the first time since Mar. 25, 2014 (5-4 W at WSH).
* The Islanders overcame a 2-0 deficit in the second period and captain John Tavares (1-0—1) scored the go-ahead goal with 3:36 left in regulation to improve to 7-1-2 in their last 10 games vs. TBL dating to Jan. 21, 2013 (TBL: 3-6-1). Tavares leads the Islanders in goals and points this season with 11-10—21 (21 GP) and also paces the club with four game-winning goals.

CAPITALS EARN FIFTH CONSECUTIVE VICTORY

Marcus Johansson and Justin Williams scored back-to-back power-play goals 2:18 apart in the second period to lead the Capitals to their fifth consecutive win and a 9-2-1 record in their last 12 contests.

* Braden Holtby (31 saves), who leads the NHL with 15 wins, extended his personal winning streak to a career-high seven games (1.85 GAA, .935 SV%, 1 SO). Elias says Holtby has matched the longest personal winning streak by an NHL goaltender this season, set by Montreal’s Carey Price in his first seven games of the campaign (October 7-24). Holtby is also the first Capitals netminder to win at least seven consecutive decisions in one season since Jose Theodore did so on two occasions in 2009-10.

KANE SETS AMERICAN RECORD WITH 19-GAME POINT STREAK

Patrick Kane (1-1—2) notched a goal and an assist to extend his career-high point streak to 19 games (11-20—31).

* Per Elias, Kane’s point streak is the longest by an American-born player in NHL history and is tied for the second-longest in Blackhawks franchise history:

LONGEST SINGLE-SEASON POINT STREAK BY AMERICAN-BORN PLAYER, NHL HISTORY

19 games – Patrick Kane (CHI) from Oct. 17 – Nov. 28, 2015 (11-20—31)
18 games – Eddie Olczyk (TOR) from Dec. 2, 1989 – Jan. 8, 1990 (11-17—28)
18 games – Phil Kessel (BOS) from Nov. 13 – Dec. 21, 2008 (14-14—28)

LONGEST SINGLE-SEASON POINT STREAK, BLACKHAWKS HISTORY

21 games – Bobby Hull from Dec. 5, 1971 – Jan. 23, 1972 (23-12—35)
19 games – Denis Savard from Dec. 6, 1985 – Jan. 15, 1986 (16-21—37)
19 games – Patrick Kane from Oct. 17 – Nov. 28, 2015 (11-20—31)

MORE ACTIVE STREAKS

Other players who extended point streaks on Saturday night include:

* Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson (5-9—14) extended his point streak to nine games.
* Stars forwards Tyler Seguin (4-7—11) and Jamie Benn (8-6—14) each extended their point streaks to eight games. Teammate John Klingberg extended his point streak to five games (1-6—7).
* Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk (2-8—10) extended his point streak to eight games.
* Penguins forward Sidney Crosby (3-3—6) and Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog (2-6—8) each extended their point streaks to five games.

THIS AND THAT

* Mikkel Boedker (3-0—3) posted his third career hat trick – and second of the season – to lead the Coyotes to their fourth consecutive home win. Both of Boedker’s three-goal games this season have come against the Senators. Per Elias, he is the first player in Coyotes/Jets history to post multiple hat tricks versus a single opponent in the same season, and first to do so in the League since Evgeni Malkin (vs. TBL) and Corey Perry (vs. CBJ) both did so during the 2011-12 season.
* Steve Mason (24 saves) posted his first shutout of 2015-16 and Wayne Simmonds (2-1—3) factored in on all three goals as the Flyers earned their first regular-season road win vs. NYR since Feb. 20, 2011 (4-2 W), snapping a 10-game losing streak at Madison Square Garden (0-10-0). Per Elias, Mason – who improved to 7-3-1 in 12 career regular-season appearances vs. NYR (2.19 GAA, .934 SV%, 1 SO) – was the first Flyers goaltender to post a road shutout vs. NYR since Michael Leighton (22 saves) on Dec. 30, 2009 (6-0 W).
* Matt Duchene (1-2—3) and Gabriel Landeskog (1-2—3) each registered three points to help the Avalanche improve to 5-0-1 in their last six home games vs. WPG dating to Oct. 27, 2013 (WPG: 1-2-3). Duchene has scored 11 of his 12 goals in November (13 GP). Per Elias, he is the first Avalanche player to score 11 or more goals in one calendar month since February 2003 (Milan Hejduk: 12).

MILESTONES & BENCHMARKS

* Patrick Roy earned the 100th win of his career as a head coach (all w/ COL) and Lindy Ruff earned his 100th win as head coach of the Stars.

* Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane (600 GP), Islanders forward Mikhail Grabovski (500 GP) and Stars forward Patrick Eaves (500 GP) all skated in milestones games.
* Oilers forward Jujhar Khaira (10:02 TOI) and Predators goaltender Juuse Saros (20 saves) made NHL debuts.

EXTRA HELPINGS OF HOCKEY

After a one-day break, the NHL returned with a 12-game schedule Friday highlighted by eight contests that required extra time.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, eight games went past regulation on the same day for the first time since Feb. 22, 2007 (also 8 of 12). Two teams secured victories after 60 minutes on both days: the Coyotes, who defeated the Flames in overtime on both occasions (GWG: Shane Doan in 2007, Oliver Ekman-Larsson in 2015); and the Canadiens, who posted shootout victories on both dates (6-5 W at NSH in 2007, 3-2 W at NJ in 2015).

* Ten games were tied or within one goal during the third period (NYR-BOS, NSH-PHI, WPG-MIN, CHI-ANA, MTL-NJD, PIT-CBJ, EDM-DET, NYI-FLA, VAN-DAL and CGY-ARI).

* Three teams overcame a multi-goal deficit to earn at least a point (CHI, MTL and NYI). Of those clubs, two earned victories: the Blackhawks and Canadiens.
* Two players scored a tying goal in the final minute of regulation: Predators forward Mike Fisher (19:40) and Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith (19:33).

BLACKHAWKS STAGE RARE COMEBACK

Down 2-0 with less than two minutes remaining in regulation, Marian Hossa (18:19) and Duncan Keith (19:33) scored 74 seconds apart to force overtime, where Artem Anisimov completed the comeback for the Blackhawks.

* Via Elias, the Blackhawks won when trailing by two goals in the final two minutes of regulation for the second time in club history – and for the first time in 89 years (also Dec. 29, 1926 against the Montreal Maroons). They are the first team to accomplish the feat in the NHL since Jan. 7, 2014 when Sidney Crosby collected 1-1—2 in the final 1:11 of the third period and then scored the lone shootout goal to rally the Penguins past the Canucks (5-4 W SO).
* Anisimov, who was acquired from the Blue Jackets during the offseason, scored his fourth career overtime goal. He has 10-6—16 in his first 23 games with the Blackhawks.

KANE EXTENDS POINT STREAK TO 18 GAMES

Patrick Kane (0-1—1) notched an assist on the tying goal with 26.6 seconds left in the third period to extend his career-high point streak to 18 games (10-19—29).

* Via Elias, Kane – who paces the League in assists and points this season (13-22—35 in 23 GP) – became the first player (on any team) to post a point streak of 18 or more games since Nov. 5 – Dec. 28, 2010, when Penguins forward Sidney Crosby totaled 26-24—50 during a 25-game point streak.
* Elias adds that Kane’s point streak is tied for the third-longest in Blackhawks franchise history:

LONGEST SINGLE-SEASON POINT STREAK, BLACKHAWKS HISTORY

21 games – Bobby Hull from Dec. 5, 1971 – Jan. 23, 1972 (23-12—35)
19 games – Denis Savard from Dec. 6, 1985 – Jan. 15, 1986 (16-21—37)
18 games – Denis Savard from Jan. 10 – Feb. 15, 1982 (8-23—31)
18 games – Clint Smith from Nov. 4 – Dec. 22, 1943 (10-19—29)
18 games – Patrick Kane from Oct. 17 – Nov. 27, 2015 (10-19—29)

BRUINS ALSO RALLY LATE TO TAKE THANKSGIVING SHOWDOWN

The Bruins scored twice in the final four minutes of regulation, including the game-winning goal by David Krejci with 1:43 left on the clock, to overcome a pair of one-goal deficits and defeat the Rangers in the 2015 Discover Thanksgiving Showdown.

* The Bruins extended their overall winning streak to five games, including three straight victories at TD Garden and four consecutive wins against an Original Six rival (TOR: 2-0 W, 4-3 W SO; DET: 3-2 W OT; and NYR: 4-3 W).
* Via Elias, the Bruins have won four consecutive team games, all against Original Six opponents, for the first time in the NHL’s expansion era (since 1967-68). This marks the 28th time the club has played four or more straight games against Original Six teams within a season in the 48 years since expansion.
* The Bruins improved to 12-1-3 in their last 16 meetings with the Rangers dating to April 1, 2012 (NYR: 4-11-1), including a five-game series victory in the second round of the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

HOLTBY, CAPITALS CONTINUE WINNING WAYS

Braden Holtby made 32 saves, including 18 in the third period, to help the Capitals close their season-high five-game homestand with four straight wins (4-1-0) and improve to 8-2-1 in their last 11 contests overall.
* At 16-5-1 (33 points), the Capitals are off to their second-best 22-game start to a season – in terms of wins and points – in the franchise’s 41-year history. They went 17-5-0 (34 points) through 21 games in 1991-92.
* Holtby extended his personal winning streak to six games (1.83 GAA, .934 SV%, 1 SO), equaling the longest stretch of his career established in his rookie campaign from March 7-26, 2011 and matched from April 2-16, 2013. Overall, Holtby (14-4-0, 1.95 GAA, .925 SV%, 1 SO) leads the NHL in wins and goals-against average in 2015-16 (among goaltenders with at least 300:00 TOI).
* Jason Chimera (1-1—2), Evgeny Kuznetsov (0-2—2) and John Carlson (0-2—2) each had two points apiece. Kuznetsov leads the Capitals – and ranks fifth in the League – with 8-18—26 this season (22 GP), including seven multi-point efforts.
* The Capitals improved to 19-2-2 in their last 23 regular-season meetings with the Lightning at Verizon Center dating to March 18, 2007 (TBL: 4-15-4), including a 10-0-2 mark in their last 12 such contests.

CANADIENS, STARS KEEP PACE ATOP NHL STANDINGS

The top two teams in the NHL – the Canadiens (18-4-2, 38 points) and Stars (18-5-0, 36 points) – both earned shootout victories on Friday:

* Down 2-0 in the second period, Sven Andrighetto and Alex Galchenyuk scored in regulation, then added both shootout goals to rally the Canadiens to victory in the first half of a home-and-home series with the Devils. It was the fourth consecutive victory overall for the Canadiens, who lead the League in wins (tied w/ DAL) and points. Mike Condon made 25 saves through overtime and denied four of five shootout attempts to improve to 8-2-2 in his NHL career (2.14 GAA, .917 SV%).
* Tyler Seguin (0-1—1) scored the lone goal in the shootout to lift the Stars to their ninth consecutive victory over the Canucks dating to April 18, 2013 (VAN: 0-6-3). The Stars, who improved to 9-2-0 in their last 11 games overall, are off to their best 23-game start to a season in franchise history. Seguin (3-6—9) and Jamie Benn (7-5—12) stretched their point streaks to seven games. Overall, Benn (17-16—33) leads the League in goals and ranks second in points, one point ahead of Seguin (12-20—32).

OVERTIME MAGIC

The Flyers, Coyotes, Red Wings and Blue Jackets also earned overtime victories on Friday:

* Shayne Gostisbehere scored his second overtime goal in five days (also Monday vs. CAR) to lift the Flyers over the Predators. Gostisbehere – a third-round selection (78th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft who hails from Pembroke Pines, Fla – became the first rookie in Flyers history to score multiple overtime goals in one season. Elias adds that Gostisbehere (9 GP) is the fastest player to score multiple overtime goals – in terms of games played – since the NHL introduced the five-minute overtime format in 1983-84.
* Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored with 39.9 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Coyotes to their third consecutive home win. Ekman-Larsson, who paces the club with three game-winning goals in 2015-16, scored his fifth career overtime goal. Overall, Ekman-Larsson has collected 19 game-winning goals since entering the NHL in 2010-11 – two more than the next-closest defensemen in that span (Dustin Byfuglien: 17 GWG). The decisive tally also moved Ekman-Larsson into a tie with Teppo Numminen (19 GWG) for the most game-winning goals by a defenseman in Coyotes/Jets franchise history.
* Nicklas Kronwall scored his fourth career overtime goal 26 seconds into the extra frame to help the Red Wings improve to 16-1-1 in their last 18 meetings with the Oilers dating to March 30, 2010 (EDM: 2-12-4). Dylan Larkin (1-1—2), Gustav Nyquist (1-1—2), Tomas Tatar (1-1—2) and Henrik Zetterberg (0-2—2) all registered multiple points for the Red Wings. Larkin (9-8—17) leads all rookies with nine goals in 2015-16.
* Cam Atkinson scored his first career overtime goal (15th career game-winning goal) to lead the Blue Jackets to an 8-4-0 record in November. Only two players in Blue Jackets history have more game-winning goals than Atkinson: Rick Nash (44 GWG) and David Vyborny (17 GWG). Sergei Bobrovsky made 25 saves to improve to 8-2-0 in November, tied with Braden Holtby for the most wins this month.

DID YOU KNOW?

The Blue Jackets became the final NHL team to play past regulation this season. Via Elias, their franchise-record 23 consecutive games without an overtime contest to start the season was the longest such streak since 1998-99 (NYI: 27 GP).

SHOOTOUT THE LIGHTS

Aleksander Barkov scored the game-deciding goal in the fifth round of the shootout to help the Panthers snap a three-game skid (0-2-1). Nine of the 10 combined shooters scored in the tiebreaker (FLA: 5 goals, NYI: 4 goals). Via Elias, it marked the first time in NHL history that all but one shooter scored in a shootout of at least five rounds.

MILESTONES AND BENCHMARKS

* Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo earned his 408th career win to surpass Glenn Hall (407) for sole possession of eighth place in NHL history; Tony Esposito holds the seventh position with 423 victories. Luongo also tied John Vanbiesbrouck for eighth place on the League’s all-time games played list (882 GP).
* Andrei Markov (0-1—1), a sixth-round selection by the Canadiens (162nd overall) in the 1998 NHL Draft, became the third defenseman in franchise history to record 400 assists. The others: Larry Robinson (686) and Guy Lapointe (406).
* Capitals head coach Barry Trotz earned his 618th career win to surpass Jacques Lemaire for sole possession of 11th place on the League’s all-time coaching wins list. He also became the 10th coach in NHL history to serve 1,300 games behind an NHL bench (618-531-151).

* The Predators contested the 1,300th regular-season game in franchise history (616-510-174), while goaltender Pekka Rinne (33 SV) became the fourth Finnish-born netminder to play in 400 career games (all w/ NSH). Other Finnish-born goaltenders to reach the milestone: Miikka Kiprusoff (623), Kari Lehtonen (520) and Niklas Backstrom (409).
* Lightning defenseman Anton Stralman played in his 500th career game.
* Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, a fifth-round selection (130th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft, made 14 saves to earn a victory in his League debut. Via Elias, he is the second netminder in Jets/Thrashers history to win his NHL debut (Kari Lehtonen: March 19, 2004 vs. FLA).
* Canadiens forward Bud Holloway, a third-round selection (86th overall) in the 2006 NHL Draft (by LAK), made his League debut (7:19 TOI).

LOOSE PUCKS

Jack Eichel scored the first of three unanswered goals to help the Sabres halt a six-game losing streak (0-4-2). Dustin Byfuglien (1-1—2), who hails from Roseau, Minn., scored the game-winning goal in his home state to help the Jets snap a six-road game skid (0-5-1) . . . CANADIENS TAKE CONTROL OF TOP SPOT IN NHL

Leading 2-1 after 40 minutes, the Canadiens added three unanswered goals in the third period to earn their third consecutive victory, pull into sole possession of top spot in the NHL standings and halt the Rangers’ home winning streak at nine games (its longest such streak since 1971-72).

* At 17-4-2 (36 points), the Canadiens lead the League in wins (tied w/ DAL) and points. The victory propelled them ahead of the Rangers (16-4-2, 34 points) and idle Stars (17-5-0, 34 points), who share second place in terms of points.
* Carey Price made 22 saves before being replaced by Mike Condon (11 SV) to start the third period. Price earned the decision to improve to 12-5-1 in 19 career regular-season appearances against the Rangers (1.74 GAA, .943 SV%, 7 SO).
* Devante Smith-Pelly (2-0—2) registered his first career multi-goal game and first multi-point effort since Oct. 31, 2013 at BOS (1-1—2).
* Tomas Plekanec (0-3—3) registered his ninth career three-assist game and second this season (also Oct. 23 at BUF). He paces the club with 7-16—23 this season (23 GP), including 0-6—6 in his last four contests.
* Alex Galchenyuk (1-1—2) and Max Pacioretty (1-1—2) also registered multiple points for the Canadiens, who scored at least five goals in a game for the sixth time this season. They lead all NHL clubs with 83 goals in 2015-16.
* The Canadiens improved to 11-3-0 in their last 14 regular-season meetings with the Rangers dating to Nov. 19, 2011 (NYR: 3-10-1).

CAPITALS CONTINUE BEST START IN 24 YEARS

Dmitry Orlov (1-1—2) scored the go-ahead goal in the second period and Evgeny Kuznetsov (1-2—3) notched an insurance marker in the final frame to help the Capitals improve to 7-2-1 in their last 10 contests overall.

* At 15-5-1 (31 points), the Capitals are off to their second-best 21-game start to a season – in terms of wins and points – in the franchise’s 41-year history. They went 16-5-0 (32 points) through 21 games in 1991-92.
* Orlov pushed his career-high point streak to four games (3-2—5) and goal streak to three contests, including back-to-back decisive tallies. He had six goals – and only one GWG (Jan. 15, 2012 vs. CAR) – in his first 137 career appearances before his current three-game stretch (three goals each in 2011-12 and 2013-14).
* Kuznetsov posted his fourth three-point performance of the season and second in his last three outings (also Nov. 21 vs. COL: 1-2—3). He paces the Capitals with 8-16—24 this season (21 GP), including 3-6—9 in his last seven contests.
* Braden Holtby made 23 saves to earn his fifth consecutive victory and League-leading 13th win of the season (13-4-1, 1.95 GAA, .924 SV%, 1 SO).

KANE EXTENDS STREAK, GUIDES BLACKHAWKS TO VICTORY

Patrick Kane collected two assists to extend his point streak to a career-high 17 games (10-18—28) and help the Blackhawks improve to 2-1-1 on their season-high six-game road trip.
* Via Elias, Kane – who paces the League in assists and points this season (13-21—34 in 22 GP) – became the first player (on any team) to post a point streak of at least 17 games since March 7 – April 7, 2012, when Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis totaled 10-12—22 during a 17-game point streak.
* Elias adds that Kane’s point streak is the fifth-longest in Blackhawks franchise history:

Longest Single-Season Point Streak, Blackhawks history
21 games – Bobby Hull in 1971-72 (23-12—35)
19 games – Denis Savard in 1985-86 (16-21—37)
18 games – Denis Savard in 1981-82 (8-23—31)
18 games – Clint Smith in 1943-44 (10-19—29)
17 games – Patrick Kane in 2015-16 (10-18—28)

* Kane is tied for the League lead with 10 multi-point games this season (w/ Jamie Benn); he had 18 such performances in 2014-15.
* Artemi Panarin also registered two helpers for the fifth multi-point outing of his career. The Korkino, Russia, native has compiled 7-16—23 in 2015-16 (22 GP) to lead rookies in assists and points.

STREAKING THROUGH NOVEMBER

In addition to Patrick Kane, various other players extended point streaks on Wednesday:

* Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson (0-1—1) pushed his point streak to eight games (5-7—12), equaling a career high last achieved March 10-25, 2014 (3-9—12 in 8 GP).
* Wild captain Mikko Koivu (0-2—2) extended his point streak to seven games (1-7—8), one shy of his career high established earlier this season (Oct. 15-30: 3-7—10 in 8 GP).
* Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk (0-2—2) extended his career-high point streak to seven games (3-6—9).
* Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk (0-1—1) also stretched his point streak to seven games (2-7—9).
* Canucks forwards Daniel (5-5—10) and Henrik Sedin (2-7—9) extended their point streaks to six and five games, respectively.
* Islanders forward Kyle Okposo (GWG) stretched his point streak to six games (1-7—8).
* Coyotes rookie Anthony Duclair (1-0—1) stretched his point streak to a career-high five games (2-4—6).

OT HEROICS

The Penguins, led by a pair of veterans, and Bruins, led by two rookies, both earned overtime wins:

* Evgeni Malkin (1-1—2) scored his League-leading fifth game-winning goal of the season – and second in overtime (also Oct. 20 vs. FLA) – to help the Penguins finish their homestand with a 3-1-0 record. Elias says Malkin, who scored his ninth career overtime goal (all w/ PIT), pulled into a tie with Jaromir Jagr for second place in franchise history behind Mario Lemieux (11 OTG). Sidney Crosby (2-0—2) posted his first multi-goal game in the regular-season since Feb. 12 at OTT (also 2-0—2). The markers were the first by Crosby against the Blues (2-5—7 in 11 GP); he now has recorded at least one goal against all 29 NHL teams he has faced.
* Rookie defenseman Colin Miller (1-1—2) scored with 1:44 remaining in regulation to force overtime, where fellow freshman Frank Vatrano (2-0—2) notched his first career game-winning goal to lift the Bruins to their fourth consecutive victory overall and an 8-2-0 road record this season. The multi-point efforts were career firsts for both Miller (18 GP) and Vatrano (7 GP). The Bruins have won six consecutive meetings with the Red Wings dating to Oct. 15, 2014 (DET: 0-4-2), including a 2-0-0 mark in 2015-16.

ROOKIES (AGAIN) LEAD COYOTES PAST DUCKS

Anthony Duclair (1-0—1) scored the eventual game-winning goal and Max Domi (0-2—2) collected two helpers to help the Coyotes improve to 3-0-0 against the Ducks in 2015-16 (also wins on Oct. 14 at ANA: 4-0 W and Nov. 9 at ANA: 4-3 W OT).
* Via Elias, the Coyotes have earned three consecutive victories against the Ducks in one season for the first time since Nov. 7, 2007 – March 11, 2008 (4-0-0).
* Duclair (8-6—14) and Domi (8-10—18) share first among rookies in goals (w/ Dylan Larkin, DET). Domi also ranks second among rookies in assists and points, behind Blackhawks forward Artemi Panarin (7-16—23). Duclair has scored five of his eight goals this season against the Ducks, including a hat trick on Oct. 14.
* Coyotes forward Antoine Vermette (2-0—2), who won a Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks after being acquired at last year’s Trade Deadline, scored his first regular-season goals since Feb. 14 vs. NYR (w/ ARI). He collected 4-3—7, including three-game winning goals in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

GUIDED BY THE GOALIE

* Craig Anderson, who played with the Avalanche from 2009-11 (51-40-10 in 104 GP), made 40 saves – including a 20-save third period – to lead the Senators to their fourth consecutive victory overall and first win in Colorado since Dec. 12, 2005 (0-1-3).
* Ben Bishop made 37 saves through overtime – and stopped two shootout attempts – to lead the Lightning to their third consecutive victory and extend his personal point streak to five games (4-0-1, 1.36 GAA, .951 SV%, 1 SO).

NHL MORNING SKATE – NOV. 25, 2015

Welcome to the “NHL Morning Skate,” a daily collection of the latest news and notes from around the League.

NHL FLOAT RETURNS FOR THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE

The NHL and Discover’s co-branded float, “Frozen Fall Fun,” returns to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday.
The 36-foot long by 20-foot wide float features a synthetic ice rink with children skating, a 12-foot tall turkey that serves as a goal and an assortment of colorful fall decorations. Riding aboard the float will be country music star Jake Owen (with a musical performance) as well as former NHL players Mark and Marty Howe.

The float promotes the 2015 Discover NHL Thanksgiving Showdown, which will take place on Friday between the Bruins and Rangers at TD Garden (1:00 p.m. ET, NBC, SN).

WILD, BLACKHAWKS UNVEIL STADIUM SERIES JERSEYS

Both the Wild and Blackhawks unveiled their jerseys for when they meet in the 2016 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series on Sunday, Feb. 21, at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis (3:30 p.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. CT, NBC, SN, TVAS).

01329522-2df7-406e-aea3-b121fff6c399

Two unique features highlight the Wild’s jerseys: the State of Hockey logo on the shoulder is a tribute to the loyal fan base of the region (it is the first time that this popular brand symbol has appeared on any Wild jersey) and the new ligature “M” logo on the pants is a bold reproduction taken from the iconic third jersey wordmark. Enlarged numbers on the sleeves and back are adaptations of the Wild’s current number system, scaled for greater visibility in the stadium setting.

The jersey crest features the Wild’s primary logo and the jersey’s colors are primarily forest green with iron range red and Minnesota wheat accents, an homage to the team’s unique color scheme and identity.

The Blackhawks’ jerseys pay tribute to Chicago, featuring four six-pointed red stars on the white collar, which are derived from the city of Chicago’s flag and were incorporated as a symbol of regional fan pride. Additionally, the black shoulder yoke serves as a visual representation of the city’s nickname, the “City of Big Shoulders.” The team’s secondary logos overlap the top three stripes on the sleeve rather than the traditional shoulder placement.

ICYMI: The Avalanche and Red Wings already have unveiled their jerseys for the 2016 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series on Saturday, Feb. 27, at Coors Field in Denver (8:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. MT, NBC, HNIC, TVAS2).

The Bruins and Canadiens also have unveiled their jerseys for the 2016 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Friday, Jan. 1, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. (1:00 p.m. ET, NBC, SN, TVAS).

26 CLUBS IN ACTION ON EVE OF U.S. THANKSGIVING

Twenty-six of the NHL’s 30 teams take to the ice on the eve of U.S. Thanksgiving, which will see the League take a one-day break (0 GP on Thursday).

TOP TEAMS FACE OFF AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN

The Rangers (16-3-2) and Canadiens (16-4-2), who are tied atop the NHL standings with 34 points apiece, look to move into sole possession of first place when they face off at Madison Square Garden. New York enters the game having won 11 of its past 12 games overall as well as nine straight at home – its longest such winning streak since 1971-72.

Montreal, meanwhile, has won three of its past four overall and boasts a 7-2-1 record this season as visitors.

This marks the second of three meetings in 2015-16 between these Original Six clubs; the Canadiens won their first matchup, 3-0 on Oct. 15 at Bell Centre, behind 25 saves from Carey Price, who owns an 11-5-1 record in 18 career regular-season appearances vs. NYR (1.75 GAA, .943 SV%, 7 SO).

STREAKING SHARKS LOOK CONTINUE WINNING WAYS IN RETURN HOME . . .

The Sharks, who recently completed a perfect 6-0-0 road trip, look to continue their winning ways when they return to SAP Center to play the Blackhawks. On Sunday, San Jose scored four unanswered goals to become the sixth team in NHL history to win a road trip of six or more games – and the first to do so since 2010-11 (BOS).

Chicago, meanwhile, is off to a 1-1-1 start on its own six-game road trip, which wraps up with another two games in California (Friday at ANA and Saturday at LAK). This marks the first of three meetings this season between these Western Conference foes; they will face off again Dec. 20 and Feb. 9, both at CHI.

. . . FLYERS VISIT ISLANDERS IN OPENER OF DOUBLEHEADER

The Flyers make their first trip to Barclays Center when they visit the Islanders in the opening half of NBCSN’s Wednesday night doubleheader. Philadelphia snapped a three-game skid (0-1-2) with a 3-2 overtime win on Monday vs. CAR, while New York is coming off a home-and-home sweep at the hand of Montreal. This marks the first of five meetings in 2015-16 between these longtime division rivals; they have split their last 16 head-to-head games dating to Jan. 19, 2012 (PHI: 8-3-5, NYI: 8-8-0).
