Toronto Sun’s Craig Robertson was feeling the effects of the cold on his exposed fingers while shooting weather photos during this week’s deep freeze that settled on the city. That’s when he came across this man, lying on an open grate downtown. “When I saw this man’s exposed feet, I really couldn’t believe it,” Robertson said. “I watched and photographed this man for about half an hour. Some people noticed him but most walked by fighting their own battle against the cold.” Eventually firefighters advised the man he should get inside somewhere. Robertson said the man thanked them but assured them he was fine and happy to stay where he was. “He curled back up in his sleeping bag and settled back down on the grate.”   Toronto Sun’s Craig Robertson was feeling the effects of the cold on his exposed fingers while shooting weather photos during this week’s deep freeze that settled on the city.
